An enjoyable time was had by all at Saturday's annual presentation evening at Worlebury Golf Club. We all gathered in the bar for a quick catch up before dinner. It was nice to see everyone, and those who could not make it were missed.
The meal was excellent; judging by the level of chat and laughter, everyone enjoyed the company as much as the food.
Presentation of the Trophies
In the absence of our normal MC (Mr Cockayne, we missed you!) John Amos assisted Wendy by announcing the winners and runners up. In the time-honoured tradition, President Barry was in position, ready to hand out the silverware.
As usual, the trophies were presented from the bottom of the list upwards.
The Most Improved Player award went to Jim Purvis. Mike Nixon received Clubman of the Year for his immense contribution to the running of the club last season.
Gerry Bean was up and down from his seat as he deputised for son Leigh, and Angela Merchant made several trips from the far end of the room to collect her medal haul.
The cheers got louder, and the photographs funnier until, at last, Chris Wilson was presented with the Club Championship. Chis then invited our Freewheelers friends to receive a cheque for over £1000 raised by the club over the last year, when Freewheelers was the Captain's charity.
Thanks to Wendy for all her hard work as Competitions Secretary this year and, in particular, making sure this year's presentation was a success.
All that polishing has worn her out!
Raffle, anyone?
It was time for the Grand Prize Draw. Following Dee Bean's earlier efforts selling the tickets, Phil Villis took to the floor to do the draw and announce the winners, whilst Dee chose the prizes and Ann Amos ran around the room delivering them.
What a dream team!
Thanks to everyone for donating raffle prizes.
And Finally....
Here are some more photos of the winners and runners up
