....and the answer is yes!
Although the recent weather has been more conducive to swimming than bowling, President's Day has finally arrived, marking the start of Banwell Bowling Club's 2023 season. The sun is out, the sky is blue and members are polishing their woods in eager anticipation.
Over the last few weeks, much hard work has been done by members to get the club and the green ready for the new season.
The clubhouse kitchen has had new cupboards and a fridge, as well as a lick of paint.
The green is looking lovely, thanks to everyone's hard work, particularly Paul A, who has also kept us up-to-date with regular blogs over the last few months.
Unplanned visitors
The club welcomed visitors this week when a group of passing cyclists asked the volunteer workers if they could sit and admire the view whilst eating their sandwiches. Rob Taylor paused from his labours to practice his photography skills:
One last job
The ladies added a last job to the list yesterday, giving their changing room a refresh. Again, Rob was waiting with his phone to capture the moment!
3 hours later, the paint splattered group had finished 2 coats of the walls. Another coat is needed, so the ladies will be using the visitors' changing room today - normal service will resume next week!
Good luck today, everyone!
Thanks Kim see you later xx
