Traditionally the first friendly match is always against Winscombe, and this year was no exception.
The weather was looking decidedly dodgy, so the two Captains made a decision to play the game over 18 ends, which turned out to be a good decision, allowing us to finish the game before the ‘ heavens opened’.
The match was played over 5 rinks, with Banwell winning on 4 of the 5 rinks. Highlights and disasters of the game are as follows:
Rink 2
Alan Shattock and his merry men were going along very nicely and by the 15th end were leading 13 - 11, when out of the blue they dropped a 7. Yes a 7. This left them no time to pull back.

And finally fellow members. Have we done away with the winning rink ‘diddler’ money?
It is not like Phil Villis to turn down good money. Or have I got it wrong once again.....
