Over 55's league away to Clevedon Prom, 30th April
We started our over 55's season at Clevedon Prom; fortunately, the weather was kind and we only got slightly damp. Unfortunately, the result wasn't very good, winning on only one rink, drawing on another and losing on the rest, with one rink being outplayed.
J Rickerty & M Kirby both had good games on the winning rink, in spite of A Shattock giving away six hard won shots to run out 21-14 winners. J Wright and his rink did well to hang on to a 17-17 draw.
The points were 3 to Banwell and 17 to Clevedon.

Men's friendly at home against Bridgwater, 2nd May
An evening game luckily missing all the bad weather.
We won 2 rinks, with John Wright's team having a big win 29-9, as well as a win for Harold Clarke's team 16-10. We lost the other 2 rinks.
We could have won 58-56 if I had gone with the away captains scoring, but honesty won the day. The final score was 58-58.

North 1A team away to St Andrews, 4th May
First League game of the season was away to our local rivals (& indoor home for some of us) St Andrews, on the warmest day of the season so far.
We had a great result, coming away with three solid rink wins to nil, and picked up the maximum 12 points for a great start.

Clubhouse Chat is no longer sending out email notifications each time a new team sheet is posted. This is because, even though the club has paid to have more emails, we are using them as more people make use of the website's features.
Please continue to request to play online, and you will still receive confirmation of requesting, selection and a reminder the day before the match.
Selection takes places every Monday evening, so go to Clubhouse Chat late Monday or on a Tuesday, and you will see the new teamsheets for the week.
